How to Ask Past Clients for Referrals (Without Feeling Awkward)

A script-level answer to a question most remodelers avoid.

Most remodelers never ask directly for referrals, worried it feels pushy - but a simple, low-pressure ask at the right moment rarely reads that way. The best timing is right after a client tells you how happy they are with the finished work, either in person or in a follow-up message.

A simple version that works: "I'm really glad you love how it turned out - if you know anyone else thinking about a remodel, I'd genuinely appreciate the introduction." No pressure, no hard sell, just an easy opening for a client who's already happy to say yes.
